Last Sunday, the brand new Energy Barn at EnTranCe opened its doors for Zpannend Zernike. Already for the third time, the Hanze University of Applied Science in Groningen participated in the annual Science Weekend, and EnTranCe was once again one of the hosting locations. An estimated 700 visitors, mostly children with their parents, visited EnTranCe to experience how fun energy, science and technic can be.
It was the first time that the Energy Barn, an energy-neutral building made of straw, was open to the public. The many different, informative and fun activities – such as Slush puppy fietsen, different workshops by de Jonge Onderzoekers or the Energy Game by the Energy Valley Topclub – offer all ingredients for a successful Science Weekend.
In total, the nationwide Science Weekend attracted some 140,000 visitors.
